About Us

our history

Living Streams started as a bible study in a home and has been dedicated the last 20 year to teaching the bible and building discipleship in the believer. Our history of influence dates to the Jesus movement of the 70’s and have our roots in the Calvary Chapel Ministry

We are in Agreement of Calvary Chapel Statement of Faith.

Living Streams is a unique Church and Ministry reaching out to the public though Watershed Cafe and Books. Meeting people on a street level through the coffeehouse allows us to share the love of God in a simple, non-intrusive and genuine way.

As a Church we have our priorities that align us with the early church we see in the Book of Acts. We teach all the Bible simply in a verse-by-verse fashion, keeping in mind the historical context and the original intent of the Bible. The early church also had this great fellowship and love for each other that linked them to Jesus. His love is our goal in a world that has hardened.

The Bible tells Jesus will return to planet earth to gather His church and it is that hope, that no matter how the world is shaken, that hope becomes an anchor to our lives.

Watershed Café is open Tuesday though Saturday and we encourage you to stop in for a visit. Our Sunday service begins at 10am with worship, teaching and fellowship afterward.

We are affiliated with the Calvary Chapel ministries.

our focus

Our Passion is the word of God, building up the believer in discipleship and creating an atmosphere of God’s care and love in our congregation.

Our Distinctives

Priority of The Word

A primary distinctive of Living Streams is to declare to people the whole counsel of God. The Word of God is what builds us, corrects us and draws us closer to The Lord. We teach the Bible verse by verse, from Genesis to Revelation in its entirety. It is the Word of God that builds the believer.

Empowered by The Spirit

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. Jesus said; without me, you can do nothing. True ministry is not about programs or human ability. It is about God working through us in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe without that anointing our efforts are in vain.

Rapture of The Church

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Jesus plainly declared that he would return to bring us home in the rapture. Keeping that perspective is what keeps us on track in these last days. We are servants waiting for our Masters return.

Supremacy of Love

By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another. Without love all the gifts and knowledge are meaningless. We put great emphasis on our fellowship with one another and believe the true evidence of a growing fruitful relationship with Jesus is our love one to another.

We Believe

Jesus

JESUS CHRIST – is the foundation and cornerstone of the church. He is God and took on a body of flesh. He came to restore man’s broken relationship with God. His finished work on the cross made that possible. Because of His love demonstrated on the cross by dying for our sins, we now have reason to fellowship with one another and proclaim salvation through His life, death, and resurrection. 1st Corinthians 3:11, Ephesians 2:20, Romans 5:6-10

Worship

WORSHIP – We believe God is worthy of all praise, reverence, and love. We take special time to worship Him in church through song. It is our goal to worship Him with our whole lives as well at home, at work, and at play. John 15:5, Romans 8:29, Ephesians 4:15

The Bible

THE BIBLE – is the inspired, infallible word of God and is relevant and applicable to man today. Therefore, we place great emphasis upon teaching it in public, studying it in private, and using it as a guide for our daily lives. Our teaching ministry is expository and generally verse by verse through the Bible. We have found this to be the most effective method of teaching the Bible. Additionally the believer receives the whole counsel of God in the process and the teacher’s agenda is set by the Bible itself. 1st Timothy 4:13, 2nd Timothy 3:16-17, 1st Thessalonians 2:13

Growth

CHRISTIAN GROWTH – is essential. Our supreme desire is to know Jesus and to be conformed to His image, likeness, and example by the power of the Holy Spirit. We encourage this by abiding in Jesus Christ through His Word, prayer, fellowship, and by yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit. John 4:23, Colossians 3:16, 1st Thessalonians 2:13

His Return

SECOND COMING – We believe that after the tribulation period, Christ will come to earth to occupy the throne of David and establish His messianic kingdom for a thousand years on the earth. (Revelation 20:1-7; Ezekiel 37; Acts 1:10-11) We believe that the kingdom will be the fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel to restore them to the land promised to Abraham and to His promise to David to establish his kingdom. We believe that the Lord’s reign will be characterized by harmony, justice, peace, and righteousness. (Isaiah 11; 65:17-25; Ezekiel 36:33-38)

Agape Love

LOVE – is the greatest virtue and demonstration of the reality of Christ Jesus. We endeavor to show a Christ-like love to all men. We embrace all of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit knowing they are for the edification of the body and the glorification of God. John 13:34-35, 1st Corinthians 13:13, Philippians 2:3-5, Hebrews 2:4, 1st Corinthians 14:26
